Women's 08/09 Nordica Skis

From

Guest Author Wendy Clinch demoed a number of women's skis for the 08/09 season. The following are some of her high points, with insight into what you ought to be expecting from Nordica skis.

Nordica has had an outstanding line-up of women's skis. And though the only changes to this year's batch are the graphics, these skis do not disappoint. I'm especially pleased by the company's decision to do away with the image of the woman on their Olympia line. To me, this looked a little too much like the female silhouette you see on the mud flaps of cars and trucks. Good riddance.

For a fast ski that's less demanding than the Firefox, the Olympia Victory is a great choice. It's playful without sacrificing stability or smoothness, a great carver that loves wide radius turns, and can handle a wide range of conditions.

Nordica Firefox

For the advanced to expert who loves to race down the mountain, there's the Nordica Firefox. Introduced last season, this zippy ski loves to make both short and long turns, edges beautifully, and has fantastic rebound. The wider-waisted Conquer (80 mm) is a damper, burlier, more forgiving ski that can plow through crud and chopped up conditions like crazy. This is a great all-mountain ski that can take you anywhere.
