Definition: Ski Cross is a skiing competition event where skiers race in a mass start group of four on a course of bumps and turns best described as a vertical snow covered motorbike "motocross" venue (from which the official name Ski Cross and similar monikers "skicross" amd "ski-X" are derived).

An official International Ski Federation (FIS) sport with sanctioned World Cup status the sport has been approved by the International Olympic Committee to be debuted at the 2010 Vancouver Olympics.

In FIS and Olympic competition the top 2 finishers of each group of 4 are rematched until the order of final group's finish determines the Gold, Silver and Bronze medalists of the event.
