Germany's Kathrin Hoelzl won the Aspen Winternational World Cup Giant Slalom at Aspen, Colorado; with Austrian Kathrin Zettel in second and Federica Brignone of Italy finishing third in only her fourth World Cup Giant Slalom race.

Julia Mancuso led the U.S. women, finishing 13th. Following Mancuso for the U.S. was Colorado native Sarah Schleper who skied to a 23rd finish. Lindsey Vonn, World Champion and World Cup overall champion, hit a rock on the course and she was unable to make the top 30 cutoff for a second run.
