Ski Hall Of Fame Names Inductees
11/06/09 -Paralympic champions Chris Waddell and Sarah Will highlight a group of eight athletes and sport builders named for induction to the U.S. Ski and Snowboard Hall of Fame. They are joined by adaptive skiing pioneer Jack Benedick, legendary big mountain skier Doug Coombs, noted industry writer and instructor Stu Campbell, veteran ski jumping champion Ansten Samuelstuen, the father of southern skiing Sepp Kober and longtime U.S. Ski Team press officer and journalist Paul Robbins.
How to Make the Olympic Team
11/06/09 -The eyes of the world will be on Vancouver this February for the Olympic Winter Games. But ski and snowboarding athletes who hope to be Vancouver Bound already began scrapping and fighting their way to Olympic Team spots beginning in September. The final Olympic ski and snowboarding teams will be named in January, as close as possible to the Olympics.
Adaptive Alpine Goes One-on-One at Copper
11/04/09 – The U.S. Adaptive Alpine Ski Team athletes have pitched tent at Copper Mountain, CO for training to find great early season snow after an earlier camp at Mt. Hood, OR was cancelled. The Team members have joined their development team counterparts in hopes of getting some on-snow time before their next camp starting in December.

Athletes Mark 100 Days To Vancouver Games
11/04/09 - The culmination of four years of determination and drive, training and competing and successes and trials is now a mere 100 days away for Vancouver Bound U.S. Ski Team and U.S. Snowboarding athletes. Now, with the 2010 Olympic Winter Games on the horizon, athletes have taken up shop around the globe to put on the final touches of training for the season.

50 Years to an Olympic Medal
11/02/09 - It was 1974, a full 50 years after the first Olympic Winter Games. Lake Tahoe resident Anders Haugen was 85, with a lifetime of memories. The Norwegian immigrant loved to tell of his fourth place finish in first Olympic Winter Games in 1924. Little did he know what the 50th anniversary of those historic Games had in store for him.
Ted Ligety: Vancouver Bound
11/02/09 - A champion after only his first trip to the Olympics, being Vancouver Bound means something special to the U.S. Alpine Ski Team's Ted Ligety. Ligety kicked off his trek too Vancouver finishing second in the season opener Oct. 26 in Soelden, Austria – just seven months after knee surgery.
New York Strikes Gold
11/02/09 – The stars shined gold, silver and bronze in New York Thursday (Oct. 29) as the New York Ski and Snowboard Ball brought champions and fans together for a gala evening to support Vancouver Bound U.S. Ski Team and U.S. Snowboarding athletes. The biggest single fundraising event of any Winter Olympic sport played to a sold-out crowd of over 500 at Gotham Hall in Herald Square with more than a dozen top athletes and Olympic champions at the 42nd annual gala.
Snow Flies on Birds of Prey
10/29/09 - Well before the recent snow storm hit the Colorado Rockies, the race crew at Beaver Creek had the guns blasting the Audi Birds of Prey slope ensuring incredible conditions for the Dec. 4-6 Audi FIS Alpine World Cup event.

Ligety 3rd Straight Soelden Podium
10/25/09 - Olympic champion Ted Ligety kicked off the 2010 Olympic season in a huge way as he shredded his way to a second-place podium finish during the Audi FIS World Cup opener in Soelden Sunday. It marked the third year in a row Ligety has finished on the podium in Soelden.
Vonn Sound in World Cup Opener
10/24/09 - Two-time World Cup overall champion Lindsey Vonn, kicked off the Olympic season in Austria Saturday matching her previous year's results in Soelden with a solid ninth place GS finish in the Audi FIS Alpine World Cup opener. The finish will be the first of many as the World Champion looks to defend her title in 2010.
Vonn Honored by International Journalists
10/22/09 - Two time World Cup overall champion Lindsey Vonn (Vail, CO) stood before a room of over 150 international journalists Thursday night in Soelden to accept the "Skieur d’Or 2009," or "Golden Ski," an award given annually by the International Association of Ski Journalists.

10/22/09 - Doug Haney is the alpine press officer for the U.S. Ski Team. During the winter he can be found anywhere the alpine competition circuit may take him. From Soelden to Kitzbuehel and Beaver Creek, Doug's job involves hundreds of hours every winter season with the men's and women's U.S. Alpine Ski Team.
