Sharpening The Base Edges

Before running the ski over the edge sharpening machine, Dan told me that the standard bevel is 1 degree for both the bottom and side edges. However, he emphasized that if a customer wants a different bevel angle they should mention it when dropping their skis off and it would not be a problem.

The Grindrite edger machine holds the angle and eliminates any variations in pressure that can easily occur with using a hand sharpener, especially if the user is inexperienced. However, it still takes a steady hand to move the ski smoothly through the machine to get a uniform edge.
