There are some cool things to do in Mt. Shasta and McCloud. Get away from it all!
Mt. Shasta Skiing
This is a great family resort. If you don't have the time or money to go to Bachelor or Tahoe I recommend staying in McCloud at the Wren's Nest Vacation home and skiing at Mt Shasta Ski park.
Pros
Not as crowded as the larger resorts in Oregon and in Tahoe.
Cons
Not as much snow as I would like - Bachelor has more.
