Walking in the village of Val d'Isere makes for enjoyable strolling - day or evening. The many little restaurants beckon for a leisurely espresso and cheese, or a for a more substantial lunch if you so desire. Many ski and boutique clothing stores, from Killy to Prada, are tucked here and there in the little streets and byways. The very friendly and helpful wait staff and salespersons are mostly all fluent in English. Also note, that residents of the village are glad when make the effort to learn even a little French and will patiently coach you through your conversations.
