Leaning Release

This is the release necessary when you need to come out of the bindings as you are passing over the binding, i. e. you are taking a header. Notice in the photo how the ski is slanted down in the workbench harness as Dan cranks on the Torque Wrench until the boot releases from the binding. He marks the initial release and dials the setting until the pressure provided by the calibrated Torque Wrench matches the formulated number.

This release point can again change during the season and even a new boot in the same size can effect the need for readjustment.

Be safe. Have your bindings checked at the beginning of the season and periodically throughout the season especially if any of the factors in the release formula change dramatically.
