Women's World Cup Events at Lienz, Austria

Women's Giant Slalom Results

Reigning World Cup overall champion, Anja Paerson of Sweden won her first giant slalom in 14 months and regained the current World Cup lead. Austrian Nicole Hosp was second. Tina Maze of Slovenia was third. For the U.S. Lindsey Kildow (Vail, CO) placed 24th and Kristina Koznick (Eagan, MN) was 25th.

Julia Mancuso, (Olympic Valley, CA), Sarah Schleper, (Vail, CO), Caroline Lalive,(Steamboat Springs, CO), Jessica Kelley, (Starksboro, VT), Lauren Ross, (Stowe, VT), Kristen Mielke, (Dillon, CO), Kaylin Richardson, (Edina, MN, and Resi Stiegler, (Jackson Hole, WY) did not qualify for the second run.

Women's Slalom Results

In the Slalom, Marlies Schild of Austria was the winner. She was a full second faster than teammate Nicole Hosp. Janica Kostelic of Croatia was third and American Kristina Koznick (Eagan, MN) fourth.

Five other U.S. women placed in the top thirty - Lindsey Kildow, (Vail, CO) was 9th, T. Sarah Schleper, (Vail, CO), 14th, Julia Mancuso, (Olympic Valley, CA), 16th, Lauren Ross, (Stowe, VT) 24th, and Resi Stiegler, (Jackson Hole, WY) finished 27th.

Jessica Kelley, (Starksboro, VT) did not qualify for the second and Kaylin Richardson, (Edina, MN) did not finish.
