Vancouver 2010 Medals Each A One-Of-A-Kind
As unique as the world’s top athletes and their awe-inspiring performances, every medal won at the Vancouver 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games will be a one-of-a-kind work of art. The medals, revealed today, each feature a different crop of larger contemporary Aboriginal artworks and are undulating rather than flat — both firsts in Games history.
Vancouver Is Ready For 2010
“Vancouver is ready for 2010”, said the International Olympic Committee’s (IOC) Coordination Commission for the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games through its Chairman, René Fasel. For its ninth and final visit (25 – 26 August) to the next Olympic and Paralympic Host City, the Commission was joined by representatives of the Olympic Winter International Federations.
BC Supreme Court Nixes Women's Ski Jumping at the 2010 Olympic Winter Games
The British Columbia Supreme Court has decided that VANOC is not in breach of section 15 of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms and has dismissed the female ski-jumpers' suit against VANOC.

Phase 2 Olympic ticket sales begin June 6
The next phase of Vancouver 2010 Olympic tickets go on sale Saturday, June 6 on a first-come, first-served basis. During Phase 2, all Canadian residents can purchase tickets directly through vancouver2010.com or by calling the Vancouver 2010 Ticketing Call Centre at 1-800-TICKETS (1-800-842-5387).
Vancouver 2010 Sport Venues Completed On Time and Under Budget
Construction and upgrades on all sport competition venues were completed on time and within the $580-million budget. Athletes are now training and competing in the venues in preparation for the Games.
One Year and Counting
VANOC, along with Bombardier and the Hudson’s Bay Company, unveiled the 2010 Olympic Torch and Torchbearer uniform designs. The event also marked the one-year countdown to the start of the 2010 Olympic Winter Games.
VANOC Readies For Freestyle Skiing
The top freestyle skiing and snowboard athletes competing for a podium finish will dazzle the crowds with their best Lincoln loops, spread eagles, alley oops and 720 Airs at Cypress Mountain.
Music Matters at Cultural Olympiad 2009
Music Matters—a sonic sampler of some of the brightest bands and singer/songwriters currently invigorating Canada’s pop music scene will spill into Vancouver dance halls, theatres and clubs this winter as part of Cultural Olympiad 2009. The 2010 Olympic Torch Relay
The 2010 Olympic Torch Relay, proudly presented by Coca-Cola and RBC, will connect Canadians in every province and territory, throughout a 45,000-kilometre journey, over approximately 100 days, and involving 12,000 torchbearers. The journey of the flame will culminate at BC Place on February 12, 2010 with the lighting of the Olympic Cauldron, signalling the start of the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games.
VANOC Partners to House the Homeless in BC
An agreement between the Province of B.C.and the Vancouver Organizing Committee for the 2010 Games (VANOC) will create affordable housing for people most in need across B.C. VANOC will reconfigure 320 temporary modular housing units from the Olympic and Paralympic Village at Whistler and relocate and convert them as 156 permanent, affordable housing units.
2010 Paralympic Winter Games tickets on sale May 6, 2009
Approximately 250,000 tickets for 52 sport and ceremony events at seven venues, for the Vancouver 2010 Paralympic Winter Games, will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. Ticket prices start at $10 for group packages of 20 or more people. Eighty-five per cent of all individual tickets are priced at $20 or less.
Vancouver 2010 Sea to Sky Volunteer Centre Opening September 1
The 2010 Winter Games Sea to Sky Volunteer Centre in Squamish will open its doors with an official opening celebration on Monday, September 1. The Sea to Sky Volunteer Centre will serve as the primary regional hub for recruitment, deployment and training for 2010 Winter Olympics volunteers.

The XXI Winter Olympics take place in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada in February, 2010. Skiing events include alpine skiing (downhill, slalom, giant slalom, super G, and combined), freestyle skiing, cross country skiing, and nordic combined, which involves ski jumping and cross country skiing.
