Men's Downhill

Daron Rahlves ( Sugar Bowl, CA) finished first and garnished enough points to become the World Cup overall points leader, passing teammate Bode Miller who finished ninth in today's race. Fritz Strobl of Austria was second and Tobias Gruenenfelder of Switzerland was third.

For the U.S. ski team, Steve Nyman (Orem, UT) placed 26th, Marco Sullivan (Squaw Valley, CA) 36th, and Scott Macartney (Redmond, WA) was 41st. J.J. Johnson, (Park City, UT) did not finish.
