Career Highlights:


Toni Sailer, known as the "Blitz from Kitz" was the first skier to win all three Alpine skiing events at the 1956 Winter Olympic Games in Cortina d'Ampezzo, Italy. He won three more gold medals and one silver in World Championship events before he retired in 1959. Sailer went on to become the head trainer and technical director of the Austrian Skiing Association, a position he held from 1972 - 76.

Toni Sailer died in Innsbruck, Austria on Monday, August 24, 2009 after a long illness. Sailer was 73.
