Maria won five WC slalom races in 2008-09 and was never lower than sixth in any of the 10 races.

In the 2009 World Championships at Val d'Isere, France Maria Riesch won in Slalom, was 8th in Super G, 4th in Super Combined, 10th in Downhill and 28th in Giant Slalom.

At Are, Sweden in 2007 she was 10th in Super G, 7th in the Super Combined, 9th in Downhill and 23 in Giant Slalom.

At St. Moritz in 2003 Marie finished 5th in the Combined and 17th in Downhill and DNF in Slalom, GS and Super G.

Maria has yet to race in an Olympic event.
