In the 2009 Alpine World Championships in Val d'Isere, France, Vonn won the Ladies Downhill and the Super G. During the season she became winningest female ski racer in American history.Lindsey was the Overall and Downhill FIS World Cup champion for 2008. She won a silver medal in downhill and super G in the 2007 Worlds.
She started the 2004-05 season with a gold medal in the downhill at Lake Louise, Canada. That season, she finished fifth in the downhill rankings, third in super-G, and sixth in the overall ranking.
