Salomon has been dedicated to new school technology and with over eight series and about 50 ski boot models they have a lot to offer. The number following the Salomon model name refers to the flex resistance when bending the ankle, on average 150-120 is stiff, 110-90 is average and 80-50 is soft.

The Falcon and Instinct Series

These are Salomon's top series (buy direct) with the Falcon CS Pro at a 120 flex and all at a 98mm width, then a Falcon 10 (110) for all mountain use and the Falcon CS (90) for a softer version.

These and the Instinct CS (90) ladies boot come with a new style of plastic in the forefoot that is able to be made wider by warming the shells then letting the boots cool down while on your feet and they are said to be instantly altered to the width necessary for your feet.

The Impact and Idol Series

The Impact (and the Idol) (buy direct) series has the Salomon shape we are most familiar with and they have a good offering in the Impact Pro (120). All these boots are 100mm in the width, which is more comfortable but may still be tight for many people. The Impact 10 (110), Impact 9 (100), Impact 8 (90) and the Impact 7 (80) are good skiing boots.

The Idol Series

The Idol Series (buy direct) is the the women's versions of the Impact with the Idol Origins (100), Idol 9 (85), Idol 8 (80) and the Idol 7 (70). There are many good options there for different levels of female skiers and 100mm width is comfortable for many women.

The Mission and Divine Series

The Mission (buy direct) and Divine series (buy direct) accommodate more width in a 102mm shape with the Mission RS 10 (90), Mission RS 8 (80) and the Mission RS 7 (70). Then they have the wider models of the Mission 6, Mission 5 and Mission 4 all at 104mm width and interesting enough all at a (60) flex.

The ladies get the Divine RS 10 (80), Divine RS 8 (70) and the Divine RS 7 (60). The wider ladies boots are the Divine 6, Divine 5, and the Divine 4 all at (55) flex and 104mm width. The most difficult thing here is the widest boots again are the softest so an advanced skier will need to get a stiffer, narrower boot and make it wider if necessary.

The Charm Series

The Charm series (buy direct) is for the comfort oriented female with a Charm 7, Charm 6 and the Charm 4 all at 106mm width.

The Freeskiing concept has evolved throughout their line and with 8 models dedicated to this series they have given options.

The Freeskiing Series

The Ghost (110), Gun (95) and the Scarlet (85) all at 98mm are great skiing boots for all mountain activities.

The Foil (80) and the Mynx (70) at 100mm are nice and easier flexing for the skier learning new moves. We have seen some incredible tricks come from these models.

The SPK Series

The SPK Series (buy direct) include the upright freeskiing boots; with the Pro Model (110), Kaos (100) and the Creation (90) in medium width.

Junior Ski Boots

Salomon makes junior models with their Falcon 100 (100), Falcon 60 (60) and Flyer (70) in 98mm to 100mm width.
