Scarpa(buy direct) has always been known for excellent mountain equipment and keeps charging with their alpine line.
For the 2011-2012 Scarpa has the Hurricane Pro (120) the Typhoon (110) and the ladies Domina (90) with excellent features and thermo liners. They also have the Mobe (125) with multi binding capability in Pebax Renew as well as the Skookum (110) and the ladies Shaka (110) with interchangeable tongues and multi binding adaptability in Pebax.
They also all come in a generous 104 mm forefoot width for all day comfort and are extremely light weight thanks to the Pebax plastic. Walk mode and replaceable soles are standard issue.
The Maestrale (100) and the ladies Gea (100) are 101 mm wide multi binding adaptable and extremely light. These are excellent times for touring.
Scarpa has some Rando Race boots with one simple closure and mostly made of carbon. The Alien 1.0 weighs just 680 grams, while the Alien is slightly more. Both come in a 101 mm width.
Then the F1 Carbon and the F1 Race have two buckles and again weigh slightly more then a hiking shoe. These come in a 102 mm forefoot width. The carbon fiber content of the Alien 1 and the F1 Carbon make them both over $1500.00 per pair.
