Friday, December 21, 2007 was Ribbon Cutting Day for the inauguration of the Village Chair at the historic North Creek Ski Bowl, in North Creek, NY.
NY State Senator Betty Little and Town of Johnsburg Supervisor-elect Sterling Goodspeed cut the ribbon, and the new triple chair was off and running.
Owned by the Town of Johnsburg and operated by Gore Mountain management, the North Creek Ski Bowl features 150' vertical for skiing and riding, 800' tubing chutes and a terrain park with half-pipe, all under the lights for evening activity.
Plans are well along for Gore Mountain to link to the Ski Bowl via a series of lifts and trails included in the Burnt Ridge Mountain expansion project. When completed the total vertical will increase from 2100' to 2500', giving Gore the 6th greatest vertical in the East.
The North Creek Ski Bowl is one of the first commercially operated ski areas in the country and is the birthplace of the National Ski Patrol.
