Nordica 2011/2012 Skis

A Selection of Nordica 2011/2012 Skis

By , About.com Guide

Nordica makes a large selection of skis across their Race, High Performance, All Mountain and Freeride categories for men, women and juniors and Nordica is introducing a lot of new skis in their 2011-12 collection. In fact, a completely new ski line Nordica calls Sidecountry boasts 4 models of varying underfoot widths all using Camrock, the evolution of Rocker Technology, i-core construction and separately available precut skins.  Hell and Back skis are built for downhill performance but include uphill features for All Mountain skiers looking to explore the Sidecountry.

Joining the Radict in the All Terrain Freestyle category ski Nordica has added the The Patron and the Soul Rider. Both skis come with CamRock technology, wood cores and narrower waist widths aimed to make these great for all mountain, backcountry, big lines and even playing in the park.

I asked Nordica for a brief manufacturer's comment on the Nordica 2012 skis:

"Nordica builds the best performing, highest quality products in skiing.  Everything we design starts with the understanding that the final product will perform better, fit more comfortably, and enhance the skiing experience more than any other product on the market.  Performance is the first, second, and third criteria for anything we build.  Our heritage goes back over 70 years, and our record of quality innovation speaks for itself.  Performance, innovation, and passion for the sport of skiing are in our DNA."

Following is some information on a selection of skis from the Nordica 2011-2012 collection. Read more about these and all the Nordica skis.

The Patron features Nordica's "High Rise" CamROCK rocker technology that includes a rockered tip and tail and solid camber under foot for stability. The Patron also features a very low tip and tail profile that, when combined with the skis progressive sidecut, prevents the rockered areas of the ski from vibrating due to lack of snow surface contact. Soul Rider - Freeride

Nordica

The Energy Ca Early-Rise skis move a traditional contact point back on the ski approximately 25%, which increases flotatinon and velocity in powder while also making the ski easier to turn. It's all of these things that make the Soul Rider an intuitive and easy handling ski, with all of the benefits of a wider plank. Super playful and the ideal jibber, the Soul Rider still sports enough camber for the fast and furious race to the lift.
