Colorado's Rocky Mountains offer a variety of great ski vacations. This list summarizes the best ski resorts in Colorado. Most of these ski resorts are well known for good reasons - they provide excellent skiing for all skiers, from beginners to experts, but they also offer great, memorable experiences.

Aspen Snowmass is a renowned ski resort that includes four mountains: Aspen, Aspen Highlands, Snowmass, and Buttermilk. With over 5,000 acres of skiing, no skier is every bored at Aspen. There's more than just another trail to ski or another lift to take - there are four mountains to ski! Now, this exceptional skiing isn't limited to wealthy skiers. While luxury accommodations are available, there are affordable accommodations available, too.

Vail Ski Resort

Vail is a popular ski resort, famous for its pwoder ski resort. With almost 200 trails and 33 lifts that stretch over the front-side of the mountain, as well as the Back Bowls and the Blue Sky Basin, Vail can transport 51,781 skiers uphill per hour. Vail, complete with lessons, activities, and an apres-ski scene, offers the complete Colorado skiing experience.

Beaver Creek

Beaver Creek Resort is located approximately 8 miles west of Vail, Colorado. Beaver Creek has 149 ski trails and 17 lifts. Beaver Creek's terrain is 19% beginner, 43% intermediate, and 38% advanced. With over 1800 acres of great skiing, Beaver Creek also offers two bowls, four terrain parks, and a half pipe

Breckenridge Ski Resort

Breckenridge Ski Resort is located in Breckenridge, Colorado. With 28 lifts and 146 trails, Breckenridge offers a ski school and many learning programs. With its skiing deemed "world class," many skiers say that it took two days to ski the entirety of Breckenridge - wow! With terrain parks and many activities for families, Breckenridge is a great place to visit.

Crested Butte

Located in southwest Colorado, Crested Butte’s 15 chairlifts serve 121 ski trails, with 23 percent beginner, 57 percent intermediate, and 20 percent advanced. Crested Butte offers both downhill and cross country skiing for all levels of skiers.

Winter Park Ski Resort

One of Colorado's biggest ski resorts, Winter Park is ideal for ski vacation for all ski levels. Be prepared for an "authentic" Colorado experiece complete with powder snow. With ridges, bowls, and ski trails, Winter Park can enterain everyone from the novice skier to the daring experts. Winter Park provides downhill and telemark skiing, and there are backcountry and cross country skiing options available close to the mountain.
