Arapahoe Basin Ski Area Description:
Arapahoe Basin Ski Area, nicknamed "A-Basin," is located at Arapahoe Basin, in Dillon, Colorado. Arapahoe has the highest skiable terrain in North America, with 105 ski trails, served by 7 lifts. Trails are: 10% beginner, 30% intermediate, 37% advanced, and 23% expert. One "Expert" run is the longest and steepest trail in Colorado.
The new Black Mountain Express, a detachable high-speed quad chairlift, has a capacity of 2000 people per hour, a length of 2877 feet, and a vertical rise of 719 feet. It replaces the Exhibition fixed grip chairlift set in 1978.
