Now, as to the 'spider' logo - Jacob's youngest son Bill dubbed his first pair of Dad's ski racing pants 'spider pants' because the stripped padding on the legs - remember this is before shin guards - looked like spiders legs...and the rest as, they say, is history.
In case you were wondering where the 'Spyder' spelling came from - David Jacobs has always been a passionate sports car fan and, he borrowed the spelling with a "y" from the Ferrari "Spyder."

The Phenomenon boasts a removable hood system with adjustable opening, fully taped seams and is equiped with a Recco® Avalanche Rescue System. Whatever you need during your day outside there's a pocket for it in the Phenomenon - an internal zippered pocket, seamless goggle pockets, ski pass pocket on the sleeve, and all with waterproof zippers.
