For 2012-2013, with the input of Sidecountry Line consultant and ski pioneer Mike Hattrup, Outdoor Research expands its commitment to the sidecountry-skiing category with more than 30 new or fully redesigned apparel and handwear pieces.
With a hands on-knowledge of what worked or could fail with disastrous consequences in the backcountry Outdoor Research (OR) founder Ron Gregg made what he knew was needed and would stand up to the elements. From the insulated X-Gaiter™, to the non-freezing Water Bottle Parka®, to The Seattle Sombrero™, the most popular Gore-Tex hat on the market, OR became the trusted brand for dependable accessories for outdoor enthusiasts worldwide.
Following Gregg's tragic death in 2003, OR was acquired by Dan Nordstrom, a Seattle native and outdoor enthusiast. Under Nordstrom's direction, OR continued the "no compromising" commitment to excellence that is the cornerstone of Outdoor Research's success and expanded it into a full line of men’s and women’s apparel.
Guaranteeing that commitment to excellence, the 'Lab Rat' program was implemented, whereby feedback from customers is sought and directed into the R&D of the company products. Check out how you can become an OR Lab Rat.
Here's what the folks at OR has to say about what's new and exciting in the 2012-2013 line of ski jackets and pants:
