Everyone in the group was gaining confidence after several trips down and by the time Ken showed up with the video camera we all, while not looking to become stars in a Warren Miller flick, were cool under pressure and all navigated through without falling or without major failure in technique. It seems nothing can be more ego deflating then watching yourself on video so, on consensus, the watching was saved for Sunday morning.
After a break for lunch we went back to some warm up drills again coordinating a turning, poling rhythm with aim to keep moving down while looking ahead. Always a big flaw for me, I need to get out of my "muscle memory" tendency to look down at the terrain at my feet, especially in moguls. When I think about it, I do it right - look down the hill two or three turns ahead. This can't be emphasized enough because it shows you where you want to go and more important where you don't want to go.
Amazing how time flies when enjoying a lesson and Saturday ended with what everyone said were some of the longest, nonstop (Shawn says non-shopping) mogul runs they ever made in fairly difficult terrain. We were all ready to rest and get right back into it on Sunday.
