Bloom Watch
Wednesday July 26, 2006
Jeremy Bloom, former U.S. ski team freestyler, and newly signed wide receiver/return specialist for the Philadelphia Eagles football team is currently sidelined with a groin injury. Bloom was injured in practice and it was diagnosed as a re-injury to a groin muscle he had hurt during the offseason.
An MRI showed a tear in the muscle that could keep him laid up throughout training camp and preseason. The Eagles placed Bloom on the current Physically Unable to Play list. Rules allow him to remain on this injured list until the start of the regular season when the team must declare Bloom fit to play or else sit out the first six-games. After the six games if he is still not ready to play that mandates going on the injured reserve list and the end of his season.
