Ogden Looks to Lure Skiing Industry

Tuesday July 11, 2006
Ogden, Utah wants to draw international ski companies to headquarter in Ogden. The city has hired international business development firm Bridge Atlantik Corporation to help entice ski companies to look toOgden as the place to be when setting up North American operations.

Banking on these companies to remember the good times of the Winter Olympic Games in 2002, Ogden is hoping it's close proximity to world class skiing, ski resorts, and an infrastructure and economy used to dealing with a skiing community, will be the magic magnet. In fact, they are marketing this venture as “The Hub” of the world’s skiing related companies.

Already Scott USA, Descente North America, Goode, Kahuna, and SnowSports Interactive are located in Ogden, so there is a track record. It would certainly be good for Utah, and good for the U.S., if Ogden were to become the Silicon Valley of the ski industry.
