How to Get Started Skiing

Aspen Mountain LessonEven though ski racers can hit speeds of 80 mph, most of us don't even think about going that fast.

Skiing is a sport for beginners, as well as experts.  All you need to do is enjoy the outdoors and the mountains.  To get a look at how easy it is to get started skiing, take a look at our How To Snow Plow and How to Get On and Off a Ski Lift videos.

This is a good time to give skiing a try - most major ski resorts have plenty of snow.  It's a simple process to get started, especially if you choose a ski area that coordinates all the logistics, from providing expert instruction to getting your lift ticket and rental equipment.

More and more ski resorts are putting all the separate steps necessary to get a beginning skier on the snow and ready for that first lesson into one package. This is the key thing to look for if you have never been through the ticket, rental, and ski school process.

Take the time to choose a ski area with all the amenities you need to get started and you'll have a great time on your first outing on the mountain.
