The Mayan calendar has moved through the last cycle to the last day - December 21, 2012 - and many Mayans and others have interpreted this date as the "end of the world".
However, if that doesn't happen today, Sierra Resort™ is ready to celebrate by offering $22 lift tickets online through Liftopia and the aptly named, Last Tap beer tasting, live music, food and beverage specials, Mayan hot chocolate, plus holiday festivities will follow if we're still here.
For the Last Tap beer tasting local micro-brews will go head-to-head and put their best brew forward to snag the last vacant tap at the Sierra Resort Pub. If the Mayans were wrong, the winning brew will be featured on tap throughout January for all to enjoy.
The Last Tap Brew Off is free for those 21 and over, who have purchased a Sierra-at-Tahoe Resort lift ticket or season pass valid that day. DJ Mo Funk will provide live music for the event.
Hedging the Mayans bet, Sierra Resort will offer guests an unbeatable online special to celebrate December 22, 2012 with the "Mayans Missed It" $22 lift ticket. While the world was supposed to end on December 21 according to the Mayan calendar, Sierra Resort wants to celebrate by offering you the chance to slide on snow and celebrate staying alive! The lift ticket will be available through Liftopia and can only be purchased online.
Also, on December 22, 2012, Sierra Resort will offer live music by the horn quintet, Bear Bones, at the base of the mountain and Mayan hot chocolate. Along with our "Mayans Missed It" celebration, holiday festivities will begin and go throughout the weekend. The holiday festitives will include games and activities, like snowman building contests, candy cane limbo, iceberg bean bag toss, and a "Frosty" doughnut eating contest.
Celebrate the "end of the world" and the holiday season at Sierra-at-Tahoe Resort - if you can't get to Sierra Resort in time grab a few last turns at your local area.
