alta It's December already, Christmas is just around the corner, ski resorts are starting to open and more terrain so this is a good time to take a look at some of the latest 2012-2013 men's, women's and kid's ski jackets and pants from select brands.

Helly Hansen has been around since 1887 - founded by - who else but a Norwegian sea captain named Helly Juell Hansen. Whether you're a guide on Mont Blanc, a patroller in Aspen or a recreational skier or rider looking for function and fashion, Helly Hansen has proven to be there for all winter sports enthusiasts and professionals.

Influential in the development of the layering system for keeping warm and comfortable while working or playing in cold and in extreme weather conditions, this ski season Helly Hansen debuts the Helly Hansen H2 Flow Technology which stands for "Hollow Heat Flow" and provides the wearer the ability to adjust the climate-temperature, airflow, humidity - within the jacket or pant.

You've probably skied at some resort where the entire staff - from lifties to ski school directors - is outfitted in Helly Hansen. In fact, "Helly Hansen is the official uniform partner for more than 60 ski resorts and mountain guiding operations and has outfitted more than 33,000 mountain professionals" and this season the entire U.S. Ski Team athletes will be wearing Helly Hansen base layer during more than 75 World Cup races in 12 countries over the course of each season.

Read more about Helly Hansen and check out a selection of 2012-2013 Helly Hansen's men's, women's and kid's ski jackets and pants.
