32 year old U.S. alpine skier Marco Sullivan, starting 42nd raced to a third place finish in the Lake Louise Audi FIS World Cup downhill, only .02 seconds off second place. Norway's Aksel Lund Svindal was first 64 hundredths ahead of Austria's Max Franz.
This is Marco's first podium since 2009 and his second at Lake Louise having finished 2nd in the 2007 DH.
At the Aspen Winternationals Giant Slalom, Tina Maze of Slovakia was first and U.S. teen Mikaela Shriffin led the U.S. women finishing 9th.
