Friday morning was crisp and cold at Vermont's Killington Resort for the Winter Dew Tour Pantech Invitational and first up in the superpipe was the women's ski superpipe semi-finals on this the day after Canadian freestyle superstar Sarah Burke passed away.
The Dew Tour officials honored Sarah's memory throughout the morning periodically posting her picture on the event competition board and, without a doubt, every competitor had Sarah in their thoughts. How could they not as Sarah was the personal idol of everyone I spoke to.
Competion went on, and will go on all weekend long, here at Killington and then elsewhere leading up to the Sochi 2014 Olympics where freestlyle skiing events will debut thanks in part to Sarah Burke's backing.
The skiing community has come together in an outpouring of condolences and remembrances and helping to support Sarah's family in their time of loss.
Sarah won't be forgotten.
