David Weigel reports on Slate.com that Former New Mexico Gov. Gary Johnson may be launching his presidential campaign while hiking and skiing at Tuckerman's Ravine, New Hampshire.
Weigel gets this out from Johnson's schedule announcements for Thursday, next week:
Governor Johnson will be skiing Tuckerman's Ravine on Mount Washington. Media are invited to cover the event and/or ski with the Governor. Tuckerman's Ravine is an extreme skiing endeavor. Interviews can be conducted at Hermit Lake Shelter (a two hour hike from the trailhead) or at the trailhead following the run.
From what David Weigel gleans, Johnson is not kidding. However, when, and if, Johnson stands on top of Tuck's Headwall he may have second thoughts about 'throwing his hat in the ring' or 'taking the plunge' as they say in politics.
Knowing politicians, my advise to presidential wannabe Johnson is do your stumping at the Lunch Rocks and let the northeast boys do the skiing.
