Erik Guay of Canada Wins Worlds Alpine Ski Championships Downhill

planeIn Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany, Erik Guay of Canada has won the 2011 FIS Worlds Alpine Ski Championships Downhill race, beating favored Didier Cuche of Switzerland by .32 second. Christof Innerhofer, winner of the Worlds Super G gold medal just three days ago, rounded out the podium in third.

For the U.S. Team Steven Nyman finished 13th with Bode Miller 15th and Travis Ganong 24th. Complete results.

The Women's 2011 FIS Worlds Alpine Ski Championships Downhill is still on the schedule for Sunday 2/13. However, the men's DH training which had been set for Sunday has been cancelled.
