Lake Tahoe has been ranked the No. 1 ski destination for the 2010-2011 season by Rand McNally. I recently spent a week skiing Lake Tahoe and Lake Tahoe is definitely high on my skiing destination list, as well.
Lake Tahoe is located on the Nevada/California border and is home to seven ski resorts, including Alpine Meadows, Heavenly Mountain Resort, Kirkwood Mountain Resort, Mt. Rose-Ski Tahoe, Northstar-at-Tahoe Resort, Sierra-at-Tahoe Resort and Squaw Valley USA.
In addition to top ranked ski resorts, Lake Tahoe offer vacation ski trip savings through discount airfares into the Reno-Tahoe International Airport (RTIA), affordable local transportation, low priced rooms at area hotels and casino resorts, and generally lower priced lift tickets.
