It may be still be August, but the Olympic mountain, Whiteface in Wilmington, N.Y. is already thinking about winter and skiing. Not just thinking skiing but also offering chances to win lift tickets and other cool stuff during these dog days of summer.
What do you need to do to win? It's easy. The "Whiteface Road Warriors" are traveling around vacation and urban areas in the East. They announce their itinerary in advance and if they spot you wearing winter ski gear, including a helmet, goggles, skis or ski boots you win a lift ticket to ski Whiteface this 2010-11 ski season.
The Whiteface Road Warriors have already found lucky winners dressed for the slopes in Albany, Saratoga Springs, and Lake George, NY. More trips are also planned to New York City and across the border into Canada to promote skiing and riding at Whiteface.
With hundreds of lift tickets to give away, the Whiteface Road Warriors will be in Plattsburgh, N.Y., Saturday, Aug. 28.
Here's an inside tip - be decked-out in your winter gear including goggles, helmet and boots when the Road Warriors visit the Champlain Centre Mall, from 1-3 p.m.; Plattsburgh State University, from 4-6 p.m.; and the Naked Turtle, from 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. for a beach-ski party, While at the Naked Turtle, you'll also have the chance to win Bud Nordica Hot Rod Skis courtesy of Budweiser and Plattsburgh Distributing.
