Lindsey Vonn Shin Injury

By February 10, 2010

Follow me on:

vonnhaus Lindsey Vonn, FIS World Cup Alpine women's leading skier and top U.S. Ski Team hopeful for an Olympic gold medal,  has a shin injury that may be serious enough to impact her skiing in the 2010 Winter Olympic competition.

Vonn told TODAY's Matt Lauer that  "I have a contusion, so the muscle is bleeding. It's really deep inside the muscle."  The deep muscle bruise could take up to two weeks to heal, jeopardizing Vonn's shot at  Olympic gold.

Heading to the Olympics,  as well as ranking first overall, Lindsey Vonn is #1 in the Downhill, Super G, and Combined - and she holds a solid 13 ranking in the Slalom.

Vonn plans on trying to ski the first training run, for the super combined race on Sunday,  on Thursday.
