Summer Ski Resort Activities

Sunday June 14, 2009
When you are looking for things to do this summer, don’t forget your favorite ski resort. Many resorts offer four season activities and the support we give our local and favorite resorts in the off-season can only help the area expand and improve winter facilities. Here are this week’s featured resorts and a little of what’s happening on the mountains:

Northeast

  • Stowe Mountain Resort, VT - Stowe is much more than just a winter destination, summer activities include the Bungee Trampoline, Alpine Slide, Climbing Wall, Obstacle Course, and Gondola. Take a ride up the toll road to the summit of Mt. Mansfield and then pick up a Stowe Mountain Resort Attraction Package to enjoy all the activities at one price!
  • Whiteface Mountain, NY - Summer activities and events seem to never end in the Whiteface Mountain/Lake Placid area. The Lake Placid Olympic venues and museums and Whiteface Gondola rides, mountain biking, and hiking are just a few things to enjoy at this award-winning family resort area.

Mid-Atlantic

Midwest

  • Alpine Valley, OH - During the summer months Alpine Valley offers an abundance of natural beauty and the ideal setting for receptions, bar mitzvahs, banquets, class reunions, company outings, weddings, receptions, reunions, anniversary parties and even dances. There are also outdoor areas that provide a perfect setting for picnics, clambakes, barbecues, and games.
  • Boyne Mountain, MI - Summer activities at Boyne include 8 challenging golf courses, award winning restaurants, chairlift rides, swimming, shopping, nationally acclaimed dinner theatre, fishing, boating, biking, and events galore. New for 2009 is the Boyne Mountain Tennis Academy, a junior developmental program aimed at teens.

Rockies

  • Big Sky Resort , MT - A Big Sky summer is enjoying a Scenic Lift Ride, hiking, rock climbing, and horseback riding in the mountains. Try the new Zipline or take to the rivers for fly fishing or whitewater rafting, then relax with a massage or spa treatment at Solace Spa.
  • Sandia Peak, NM - Sandia Peak summer sports opens 30 miles of trails offering scenic adventures for the mountain biking novice or pro. Don't miss a trip on the world’s longest aerial tramway, transporting you above deep canyons and exciting terrain for 2.7 miles
