NorthStarIt seems that in Lake Tahoe if it isn't snowing up a bundle then it's a bluebird day for skiing. During our family ski vacation in South Lake Tahoe, the day my daughter and I set out from South Lake Tahoe to ski at Northstar-at-Tahoe was another one for the bluebirds.

On the way to Northstar we went around the east side of the lake catching some great views of the sun edging up and lighting the snowcaps. upon arriving at the family friendly Village at Northstar easily navigated rentals, lockers and ticketing make your getting on the slopes a stress free affair.

The terrain parks and the half and super pipes are nationally rated, after all, this is home to the first Burton designed "Stash." The well groomed trails and more than our share of steeps and trees made for another great time skiing around Lake Tahoe. Check out my photos and read about our day at Northstar-at-Tahoe.

Northstar is great. The village is killer and the mountain is an all around blast. I wouldn’t call it Tahoe’s rising star however. The real rising star is Homewood on the West Shore of the lake.

If you prefer waiting in line to skiing, Northstar is really great.
