UVEX Magic Ski Goggles

Saturday December 20, 2008
view For anybody who has seen my ski boot bag and wondered why the front accessory pocket was bulging at the zipper, I now confess that I used to carry three, and sometimes four pairs, of ski goggles. Absolutely, not to make a fashion statement, but just to be able to see the bumps and dips in the snow.

I don't know if I have a correctable perspective problem, but without goggles I see the details and highs and lows in the trail just fine. However, without goggles I can't ski through the tearing up from the cold and wind.

My solution was to carry several pairs of goggles of various tints and pick out the best one, usually in my car, or looking out the ski lodge window. Friends know I have wished aloud for goggles where you could manually turn a crank and roll down plastic of increasing tint - like a pull down shade. Of course, my friends boo-hooed any thoughts of a "patent pending" on that one.

However, UVEX Sports has come out with a goggle that changes tint with the push of button. It sounds like magic - the goggle is called Magic - and I'm not tricking you - they work. They work for me and I am the most demanding purveyor of ski goggles that I know of.

Here's more on they work and why these UVEX Magic goggles can be the only goggle in your quiver.
