Summer Glacier Skiing in Europe
While the focus right now is on the depth of the powder at Ski Portillo, Chile and Las Lenas, Argentina here are some places to keep in mind if your heading to Europe this summer.
Lift served summer skiing on the glaciers near Les 2 Alpes opened in early June. Skiing above Tignes started up last Saturday and next weekend Val d’Isere will reopen for glacier skiing.
If you are going to Austria, check out Kaprun, Stubaital, Hintertux, and Solden (Rettenbach glacier). In Switzerland, consider Zermatt and Saas Fee, and Les Diablerets. In Italy, Cervinia is lift-linked to Zermatt and at Passo Tonale you can ski the Presena glacier.
