Ski Club of the Week - Diamond Dogs Ski Club of New York
"Are you looking for a fun and adventurous group of people in the New York area who like to Ski / Snowboard?" asks the Diamond Dogs Ski Club of New York. Well, you've found it with the Diamond Dogs whose membership is mostly between the ages of 25-45, single, and lives throughout New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut.The club was founded in 2002 as the "Renegades" ski club, but was quickly renamed the Diamond Dogs to honor Larry Sumaya, one of the original "Diamond Dogs" who was taken so young on Sept 11th, 2001.
The goal of the club is to maximize the amount of quality skiing for club members and to create a friendly atmosphere with a year-round agenda of adventurous and social activities. Ski Trips are run from November through April with local bus trips to areas in New York and Vermont. Destination trips this year were scheduled for Breckenridge, Alta/Snowbird, Vail, Taos, Big Sky, and Aspen. Social events include Happy Hours, Day Trips, Movie Nights, and other happenings. Membership is open to those over 21 and joining the Diamond Dogs is easy. Review the terms and conditions of the club and fill out the form, you can also sign up for the newsletter. There's no fee to be in the club - a small incidental cost of about 3-5% is added to the activities you participate in to help pay for overhead expenses. Now that's a New York deal!
