Park City - Small Town Charm and Big Mountain Skiing

Tuesday February 19, 2008
Park City Park City, Utah is a ski destination with small town charm and big mountain world class skiing. Don't hesitate to book a vacation this season - there is a ton of snow that seems to just keep piling up with a lot of winter yet to come.

Visit Park City and you'll quickly see why this old mining town is number one on a lot of skiers list of places to spend some quality ski and apres-ski time. There are quaint little 100 plus year old miner abodes, barely the size of a 2 car garage that can now easily run you over a $1,000,000. In fact, the whole facade of the old section of Park City retains that early 1900's utilitarian elegance.

Combine this with the immediately surrounding world class ski areas of Park City Mountain Resort, The Canyons, and Deer Valley, and you have a destination that attracts skiers from everywhere, and draws them back year after year. With several more major resorts within an easy drive of Park City, such as Alta and Snowbird where I easily drove to in an hour, you get a little of the European feel of close together resorts.

Park City has the good food and ambiance necessary to make it a memorable ski town and - just ask anyone you meet on Main Street - it also has the "Greatest Snow On Earth" to make it an unforgettable ski town. Now, take a short apres-ski stroll around town with me and see why it's easy to fall in love with Park City.
