Keeping ski boots and ski gloves dry goes a long way to help keeping your hands and feet warm. However, I’m sure you’ve noticed that if you only set your boots and gloves in a warm room, they are very slow to dry out. This is because both boots and gloves are closed end items, having no natural way to circulate drying air.Using forced hot air, such as suspending boots and gloves over hot air vents, isn't the best way to dry gloves and boots. This method tends to quickly dry out boot and glove liners, stiffen gloves, and eventually leads to liner and leather breakdown. So, the best way to dry out both boots and gloves is to invest in a dryer specifically designed to blow the right amount of air and heat into the pockets of each.
There are several brands of boot and glove dryers available and most use flexible hosing to reach into the interior of the garments. Expect to pay around $75 for a home two boot unit - a worthwhile investment for comfort and for prolonging the life of boot liners and gloves. Here is a look at one popular model the Hotronic Snapdry Boot and Glove Dryer.
