3 Countries – 1 Giant Ski Area – The Espace Mont Blanc
On the international ski scene, there is arguably no other mountain range in the world that offers as much extraordinary and accessible skiing in such a concentrated area as the Espace Mont Blanc. Formally, the "L’Espace Mont Blanc" is the mountain area surrounding Mont Blanc, comprising about 1100 square miles and crossing the borders of France, Switzerland, and Italy. To be able to ski this area is an opportunity not to be missed and it is more affordable than you might think.
Skiing Europe is not just cheap for Europeans who are all within an easy drive to Alps. I drove around this area skiing, in all three countries, in less on the road time than trekking the ski areas of the northeast USA. However,to take advantage of the affordability, to know where to stay, and to find the best areas to ski you need someone who knows the region.
Guest Author, Mike Beaudet, is known locally and affectionately as "Megeve Mike" - he is a transplanted Colorado ski pro who fell in love with the Alps. Mike has set up a ski touring business based in Megeve, France and has guided all level of skiers to the best skiing from Megeve to Zermatt to Cervinia, and all vistas in between.
In his article Megeve Skiing on skiing and touring in the Espace Mont Blanc Megeve region, Mike shares some of the best of what Megeve has to offer.

Megeve skiing is great, but I encourage to visit Chamonix and Argentiere as well. They are fabulous. Check out my article of being a skibum in Chamonix:
