A Ski Channel Baby Shower Promises One Big Baby

By June 18, 2007

Follow me on:

There may have been a time when the Ski Channel was only a twinkle in Steve Bellamy’s eye - but now this baby is on the way and last week there was a baby shower to prove it! Olympic gold medallist Jonny Moseley and The Ski Channel founder, Steve Bellamy, hosted The Ski Channel Baby Shower at Q’s in Brentwood, CA.

I said before the Ski Channel is going to be big and some big names in sports and entertainment came out to the Baby Shower to prove me right. Julia Mancuso, was there along with pro ski pals Kristina Koznick, Lauren Ross, and Dash Longe. Tennis stars Alexandra Stevenson, Derreck Rostagno, Pam Shriver (with husband, “James Bond” star George Lazenby) and beach volleyball player, Sinjin Smith.

Stars from the Entertainment world who came out to show their suport for the Ski Channel project included “Baywatch” star, Alexandra Paul, and husband, triathlete Ian Murray, Donna Mills (“Knott’s Landing”), Dawnn Lewis (“Dreamgirls”), Jaron Lowenstein (“Evan and Jaron”), Scott Grimes (“ER”), Kevin Durand (“Wild Hogs”), Amy Pietz (“Caroline in the City”), Jason Gray Stanford (“Monk), and Melissa Rivers. US Magazine’s Ken Baker, record producer Tony Berg, director and US Ski Association Board Member, Bill Bindley and staffers from Volkl were also in attendance.

The party also celebrated the partnership Jonny Moseley has committed to the Ski Channel and the evening ended with Moseley performing a 720-degree helicopter spin in the middle of the pool hall – no skis, no snow, no jump – just out-of-this-world skill, energy, and enthusiasm. The same skill, energy, and enthusiasm Jonny will bring to the new network as spokesman, on-air talent, analyst, instructor, an advisory staff member.

All smiles in the photo taken at the Baby Shower are, left to right, Alexandra Paul - "Baywatch", Jonny Moseley - Olympic Gold Medalist, Donna Mills - "Knotts Landing", and Steve Bellamy - Ski Channel founder.

Right now the Ski Channel set to debut on Time Warner Cable in early 2008. I’ll post the due date as soon as I know it - so stay tuned for more announcements.
