Ski Resort Happenings and Events

When you are looking for things to do this summer, don’t forget your favorite ski resort. Many resorts offer four season activities and the support we give our local and favorite resorts in the off-season can only help the area expand and improve winter facilities. Here are this week’s featured resorts and a little of what’s happening on the mountains:

Northeast

  • Stowe Mountain Resort, VT - Stowe is much more than just a winter destination, offering tons of summer activities. Drive up the toll road to the summit of Mt. Mansfield and then pick up a Stowe Mountain Resort Attraction Package to enjoy all the activities at one price!
  • Whiteface Mountain, NY - Summer activities and events seem to never end in the Whiteface Mountain/Lake Placid area. The Lake Placid Olympic venues and museums and Whiteface Gondola rides, mountain biking, and hiking are just a few things to enjoy in this award winning family resort area.

Mid-Atlantic

  • Winterplace Ski Resort, WV - Think summer at the Winterplace Ski Resort MountainHouse enjoy attractive resort surroundings for your group's event including weddings, conferences, company picnics, meetings, family reunions, scenic chairlift rides and more. 500 people can be accommodated in the 10,000 square foot MountainHouse facility.
  • Cloudmont Ski & Golf Resort, AL - Cloudmount offers Golf and horseback riding and hiking all summer long or rent a chalet for a quiet getaway.

Midwest

  • Alpine Valley, OH - During the summer months Alpine Valley offers an abundance of natural beauty and the ideal setting for receptions, bar mitzvahs, banquets, class reunions, and company outings. Weddings, receptions, reunions, anniversary parties and even dances. There are also outdoor areas providing a perfect setting offering plenty of space for picnics, clambakes, barbecues, and games.
  • Boyne Mountain, MI - Summer activities at Boyne include 8 challenging golf courses, award winning restaurants, tennis, chairlift rides, swimming, shopping, nationally acclaimed dinner theatre, fishing, boating, biking, and events galore.

Rockies

  • The Canyons, UT - Summer at The Canyons brings breathtaking rides on the Flight of The Canyons Gondola, lunch at Red Pine, disc golf, hiking, and mountain biking. Among the many events offered, The Saturday Summer Concerts at The Canyons will run from July 21st - August 25th. Free and open to the public.
  • Sandia Peak, NM - Sandia Peak summer sports opens 30 miles of trails offering scenic adventures for the mountain biking novice or pro. Don't miss a trip on the world’s longest aerial tramway, transporting you above deep canyons and exciting terrain for 2.7 miles
Far West
  • Mt. Bachelor, ID - Summer Sightseeing at Mt. Bachelor starts June 30th! Enjoy hiking, dining, frisbee golf, and interpretive tours by the US Forest Service. Sunset Dinners are held each Friday and Saturday and Labor Day Twilight Dinners return August 31.
  • Arizona Snowbowl, AZ - The Arizona Snowbowl, a few hours from Phoenix, is a great place to escape the summer heat. Activities include Disc Golf, scenic Skyrides and hiking in the Coconino National Forest - all this and only 70 miles from the Grand Canyon!
