Vail Tops Annual Heads Up National Ski Area Safety Awards

Each season the National Ski Areas Association (NSAA) honors member resorts that have done the best job of educating both employees and guests about skiing responsibly. The 2007 award winners are:
- Best Overall Safety Program - Vail Mountain, CO
- Best Safety Week Program - Northstar-at-Tahoe, CA
- Best Helmet Safety Campaign - The Summit at Snoqualmie, WA - “Helmet Heroes”
- Best Use of the Web in a Safety Campaign - Mt. Hood Meadows Ski Resort, OR -“Dave’s Blog”
- Best New Safety Role Models - Beaver Creek Resort, CO - “Harry & Milli”
- Best Terrain Park Safety Program - Stratton, VT - “Safety Education Session (SES)”
- Best Pre-Teen and Teen Safety Outreach - Aspen/Snowmass, CO -“Teen Video Contest”
- Most Creative Use of Online-Video - Bridger Bowl, MT - “Bridger Bob”
According to NSSA Education Director Tim White, “…it was more evident than ever that ski area volunteers and employees heartily enjoy the challenge and opportunity to show that safety and fun really do mix.”
