Steep – A Big Mountain Movie For Big Mountain Skiers and Dreamers

Saturday April 21, 2007
On Friday, April 20, LX.TV released an interview with Kayce Jennings (widow of Peter Jennings) and Tom Yellin, the producers of Steep. Steep is the story of extreme skiers risking their lives base jump skiing and skiing the most treacherous mountains available. It premiered at The Tribeca Film Festival, in New York City. About.com Skiing site was one of the news and info services afforded a copy of the interview by LX.TV for our readers viewing.

In the interview, Jennings and Yellin talk about the process of making the movie and show incredible clips from the movie. The interview brings out why Jennings and Yellin, both avid skiers, went to great lengths and breathes to show how and why for some - the risks make the adventure. Sadly, in the case of Doug Coombs, one of the principles of the doucmentary, the risk ran too far.

Anyone who loves big mountain skiing should view this interview. Listen intently and you’ll see that the movie is a labor of love. You’ll get lost in the producer’s intensity; you’ll go ga–ga over the clips from the movie; then you’ll be packing to be first in line to get a ticket for Steep.
