To the Victor (and Ligety) go the Spoils

Thursday June 29, 2006
Stephani Victor, the Paralympic slalom champ, World Cup slalom co-champion, and reigning slalom world champion for sit-skiers has been named Co-Grand Marshal of the Park City, Utah Fourth of July parade. Stephani will share the honors with Ted Ligety the 2006 Olympic alpine combined gold medalist.

Ligety was born in Park City and on his way to the Olympics skied for the award-winning Park City Ski Team program. He now represents Park City Mountain Resort. Victor, an Iowa native, has called Park City home since the late nineties and represents Deer Valley Resort.

Members of the U.S. Ski Team will be honored during the parade. Utah area athletes who participated in the 2006 Olympic Winter Games and Paralympic Games will ride on a float following Ligety and Victor. For those who can make it to Park city on the Fourth the parade begins at 11 a.m. MT at the top of Main Street. Immediately following the parade there will be an autograph session with the athletes in City Park.
