2005/06 Early National Numbers Show New Skier Visits Record
Monday June 5, 2006
The National Ski Areas Association (NSAA) announced at its annual National Convention and Tradeshow that skier visits for the 2005/06 season set an all-time record of 58.8 million visits nationally. This number is up over 3% from last season, and 2 percent higher than the previous record set in 2002/03 season. Five of the six best seasons ever have all occurred in the past six seasons. Industry analysts relate these numbers to a successful marketing of the sport to both baby boomers returning to the slopes and to attracting new younger skiers.
