Utah Resort Visits Up Again
Thursday May 18, 2006
For the third straight year, Utah ski resorts have broken their skier visit day count. The current count, according to Ski Utah is 4,045,030 and guess what – they are still counting with Snowbird scheduled to stay open for at least two more weekends.
This winter’s numbers represent a 3.8% increase in skier days over last season's 3,895,578. The National Ski Areas Association defines 'skier days' as one person visiting a ski area for all or any part of a day or night, for the purpose of skiing.
Do you think maybe the fact that this year, for the second year in a row, Utah resorts have seen received over 600 inches of what it calls the Greatest Snow on Earth, just might have something to do about those numbers?
